Pre-Congress Workshops are optional educational programming which take place February 19, 20  & 21, and are offered at an additional fee. Refer to the Registration Fees page or the Registration Form for fee information.

The chart below visually shows which workshops can be combined with others, and which workshops cannot be combined because they overlap.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You may choose to attend:

  • a single 1-day workshop (either Wednesday or Thursday),
    OR
  • two 1-day workshops (select one on Wednesday and one on Thursday)
    OR
  • one 2-day workshop (held Wednesday & Thursday; must attend both days of selected workshop)
    OR
  • one 3-day workshop (held Tuesday – Thursday; must attend all 3 days).

The 3-day workshops offer 26 or 27 instructional (contact) hours. See the Continuing Education section of the website regarding C.E. for specific professions.

PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING (A & B) ARE 3-DAY WORKSHOPS AND CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH 1-DAY OR 2-DAY WORKSHOPS

 

Workshops A & B will be offered Tuesday, February 19 through Thursday, February 21 from 8:00am – 6:00pm each day. If selecting one of these three-day workshops, please circle the letter A or B on the Registration Form or when registering online, select A or B in the pre-Congress section.

A.   Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support & Group Crisis Intervention
       Jeffrey M. Lating, PhD
Complete four days of training in three days! Combines the two separate courses, Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support, and Group Crisis Intervention, into one three-day course. Fundamentals of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) will be outlined and participants will be given the knowledge and techniques to provide individual (one-on-one) and several group crisis interventions, such as crisis management briefings, defusings and Critical Incident Stress Debriefings. Receive two course workbooks, two certificates of attendance and earn 27 contact hours!
Core Courses for ICISF’s Certificate of Specialized Training Program
Only those attending all hours of class will be issued certificates of attendance.

B.   Pastoral Crisis Intervention I & II
       Rob Dewey, MDiv
Complete four days of Pastoral Crisis Intervention (PCI) training in three days! Combining the ICISF PCI I and II courses, the focus of this 3-day course is to assist participants in learning how pastoral interventions and traditional psychological crisis interventions may be integrated into a crisis response. Builds on PCI foundations with a focus on specific advanced concepts and field applications where pastoral crisis intervention is applied. Receive two course workbooks, two certificates of attendance and earn 26 contact hours!
Specialty/Elective courses for ICISF’s Certificate of Specialized Training Program
Only those attending all hours of class will be issued certificates of attendance.
