Concerns of Police Survivors
Jennifer Thacker became a law enforcement survivor at the age of 26, when her husband, Brandon Thacker, was shot and killed in the line of duty on April 16, 1998. She has served as chapter president, vice president, secretary and benefits coordinator. She served on the C.O.P.S. National Board as Southern Seaboard Trustee from 2004-2008 and National President from 2008-2010. Jennifer was named the Director of National Outreach for C.O.P.S. in September of 2010.

Denise J. Thompson is an LISW and a Lt Col in the Air Force Reserve. Denise is on the ICISF faculty, teaches several ICISF courses, and co-authored the “Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention” course. She is a faculty member of Resiliency Science Institutes, teaching “Resilient Leadership” and “Resilient Child”. Denise has provided crisis intervention and organizational consultation for airplane and helicopter crashes, homicides, suicides, Line of Duty Deaths, manmade and natural disasters, robberies and combat.

Pat is the Director of EMS and Trauma for HealthONE in Denver. In 1985 she organized the Mayflower Crisis Support Team and also coordinates the Colorado Crisis Support Network. She is an ICISF Approved Instructor for multiple courses and is the author of two ICISF courses, “Staff Support in the Healthcare Setting” and “TEAM: Team Evolution and Management”.
