Hotel News

The Hilton Baltimore has agreed to continue accepting reservations at ICISF’s discounted group rate as long as rooms remain available. If you’re just now making your plans to attend, be sure to contact the Hilton Baltimore or make your reservations online at the 12th World Congress rate of $137. Educational Program News

Just Added – On Saturday, February 23 at 8:00am, Sergeant Troy S. Anderson will present on “Confronting the Unimaginable: CISM Lessons Learned in the Wake of the Newtown Tragedy”. SGT Anderson will discuss how his teams responded, triaged and provided follow-up care to State Police, municipal police, emergency responders and families through compassion and professionalism. ConfirmedDeputy Assistant to the President for Homeland Security, the Honorable Richard A. Reed, MSW, will give a Keynote Presentation entitled, “Building Resiliency & its Role in the Continuum of Care in Crisis Management.” The presentation is scheduled for Friday, February 22 from 11:00am – 11:40am. A 2-Day Post-Congress Workshop has been added to the World Congress schedule on Monday & Tuesday, February 24 & 25. Register to attend ICISF’s “Managing School Crises: From Theory to Application”, offering 14 contact hours and applicable to toward the completion of a Certificate of Specialized Training. Continuing Education Updates

The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. (ICISF) is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. ICISF maintains responsibility for the program. C.E. credit for psychologists is granted on a one credit per one contact hour basis. Detailed information pertaining to workshop/session learning objectives, and/or the application process may be obtained by contacting Michelle Parks at the ICISF office by email, or phone (410) 750-9600, or on-site at the ICISF Information Desk. There is an application fee of $18. (posted January 8, 2013)

This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886368353-1574) for 46* Social Work continuing education contact hours. There is an application fee of $15. Please pick up application materials and instructions at the ICISF Information Desk upon arrival at the 12th World Congress. You must check in each morning at both the ICISF Information Desk and Registration Desk, and sign out daily at the ICISF Information Desk. (posted January 8, 2013)

The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc is an NBCC-Aproved Continuing Education Provider and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for the 12th World Congress on Stress Trauma and Coping that meet NBCC requirements. All 12th World Congress educational program presentations, with the exception of Poster presentations, have been approved for NBCC clock hours. This approval applies to National Certified Counselors (NCC’s) only. Contact the State board you are interested in to get information on their approval requirements. There is an application fee of $15. (posted January 14, 2013)

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are available for Employee Assistance Professionals for the 12th World Congress. Training Attendance Record forms with EACC Approval numbers, content areas, approved number of PDHs and instructions will be available at the ICISF Information Desk on-site. The MIEMSS Pre-Hospital Training & Certification Division has approved the 12th World Congress for Continuing Education. Please request information at the ICISF Information Desk. (posted February 2, 2013)
